Subscription boxes are all the rage, right? The problem is that most of them just get so expensive, especially when you get them on a monthly basis. I went through a period where I was completely obsessed with subscription boxes, and signed up for probably about 4 different ones. Yikes – that was spendy. I realized if I wanted to keep my kid in daycare and, you know, fed daily, I had to cut back. (Let’s not talk about my newfound fabric addiction though, k?) Then I found the Walmart Beauty Box…dreams really do come true! The absolute best part about it is that it’s $5. Yes, you read that correctly – $5. Technically, they state the box is free, and you’re paying $5 for shipping. Either way, it’s one hell of a deal. Secondly, it is only sent every 3 months, for a total of 4 times every year. There is one sent with each change of the season. When you’re only getting it a handful of times a year, you don’t accumulate so much junk! It gives you more time to use everything until the next box comes out.
So let’s get on with it, shall we? I’m sure you’re wondering if, even at a low price point, this box is worthwhile. I’ve been really pleased with my past boxes – on that alone, I would recommend it. I was not as impressed with the Summer 2017 box, but mostly just because it didn’t match as closely to what I like to get. It’s still worth the cost, either way!
*Note: Values are calculated by current Walmart pricing, prices may vary by retailer and are subject to change.
Ecotools Eco Mask Remover Sponges, Pack of 2 – value: $2.50
Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner – value: estimated $2.00
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes – value: $4.46
Got2B Ultra Glued Styling Gel – value: $4.12
Impress Nails One Step Gel Nails – value: $4.50
Real Techniques Brush Cleaning Gel – value: N/A, it’s a free sample pouch
Total value: $17.58
That’s not too shabby! While I wasn’t overly thrilled with the contents compared to past boxes, it’s undeniably that the value is there. So what are you waiting for? Get signed up for the next box here! Once you do, let me know what you think about it!
Too Long, Didn’t Read:
Rating: 4/5 stars (for this box)
Pros: You can try tons of different items that you wouldn’t normally buy. I’m cheap when it comes to beauty supplies, so it’s fun to try them!
Cons: Since it’s always a mystery, sometimes you can get things you’re not a fan of, like me with this box.
Final Thoughts: It’s so worth the value, and for only $5/box ($20/year!), it’s hard to pass that up.
