I was given a full size sample of the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with coconut oil in exchange for my review through CrowdTap. I had really high hopes for this product – I absolutely love Jergens lotion. My favorite lotion (and the only one I’ll use for the most part) is the Jergens Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Moisturizer. That stuff is amazing, and works so well! Plus, it smells great. I’ve always heard that if you apply lotion to wet skin, it will absorb better, so I was excited to try out this product.

Maybe I just don’t get the concept, but I did not like putting this stuff on wet skin. The directions say that you are to put it on before getting out of the shower and without drying off. You apply it to your wet skin, and then pat dry with a towel. Here’s where the problem comes in: when you mix this type of substance (the texture feels much like an in-shower body wash) with wet skin, the water and the moisturizer combine to a slimy texture. It felt like it basically just washed right off, so I didn’t feel any difference in my skin.

It is summer now, and my skin is not quite as dry, so it’s very possible that I will feel differently about it come winter. I’ll hang onto it until then, and try again. I’ll be sure to update if my results change, but as of now, I wouldn’t recommend this product unless you’ve had experience with wet skin moisturizers before.

If you want to give it a shot, it’s available on Amazon for $5.99.

Too Long Didn’t Read:

Rating: 2/5 stars

Pros: Smells great!

Cons: When applying, it created a slimy feeling on my skin, so I couldn’t tell if it was even moisturizing.

Final Thoughts: I couldn’t get past the slimy feeling this left when I applied it, so I don’t think it did it’s job. I’m looking forward to giving it another chance in the winter when my skin is a bit more dried out.
